How to Get Google Adwords at 5c a click !!
(And on Page 1 !!)
Google Ads can make you a lot of money. But it’s like all the
other good things, to be successful you have to do it right.
For a long time I’d been reading about people making real
money by placing ads on Google and I thought “I could do that”. Sounds easy
- but I had no idea how it worked.
So I figured the only way to find out is
Just Do It !
So this is what I did.
Some of it worked so I stuck with
that. And some of it didn’t – so I modified that and tried again.
This report details what I did, and still do, to make money
with Google Adwords without paying huge amounts on Cost-per-Click (CPC)
(You can, in fact, get your CPC down to 5c !!)
For those new to Google CPC advertising the system works
basically like this :
1. Every time someone clicks on your ad you incur a cost
(CPC)
Google will then debit your account at the end of each
month for the total CPC’s.
2. Every so often one of those clicks results in a sale
ClickBank, or whoever operates your Affiliate Program,
will pay you at the end of each accounting period. (Every 2 weeks for
Clickbank)
Initially it may cost you money, paying for clicks but
getting no
sales.
This is because your Keywords may be attracting the wrong
people – people who search your keyword, then click on your ad, but don’t want to
buy your stuff. Maybe they didn't like what you were selling, or your
keyword led them to something other than what they were after. Either way – you’ll pay the CPC but you won’t get a sale.
And that’s how you learn about
the importance of Keyword selection !!
I could list a whole lot of things you should do, but a smart
young man by the name of Chris Carpenter has already done that. Early
on in the piece I kept
on seeing his name on the Internet whenever people were talking about
advertising on Google, so to get me started with Google Adwords I bought
Chris's eBook,
Google Cash, and found it to be a tremendous help.
In fact, I really couldn’t have got started without it.
It’s very 'readable' and covers all the topics you need, and
then some !
Things like;
-
How to find and choose lucrative affiliate programs
-
Keyword research
-
How to write ads
-
Setup your campaign
It’s really a complete manual on
“How to do Google
Adwords”
If you’re just getting started with Google Ads, or you’d like
to find out more then this book of
Chris Carpenter’s, Google Cash, is highly recommended.
Another book I found along the way was “Google
Profits” by Wade Winger.
Just like “Google Cash” it is very well written, easy to
understand and Wade takes you step by step through his system.
There are many books you can get hold of telling you how to
make it big with Google, and I think I’ve read them all !
But these two,
Google Cash and
Google Profits, get the point across in a way I found easy to understand
and copy.
And that was important to me. After all, I’m only doing this
for the money and if successful people are able to show me the way I’d have to be stupid to
ignore them, wouldn’t I ?
The only thing I found they didn’t cover too well was how to
select the product you are going to advertise.
Note: Initially you just pick a product
you like or better still a product you use. That way you'll find it a
lot easier to write the ads and select the Keywords.
They talk about signing up with Affiliate Programs (AP) and
you will have to do that. The Affiliate Program products are your stock – that’s
what you’re going to sell.
Some of the biggest and better known AP's are;
But they don’t mention that the biggest one, ClickBank, has
about 11,400 products and services you can advertise !
So how do you pick
? How do you find the one you want ??
Well, I found the easy way for me was to join
1st Promotion. This program offers what is really a search
engine for ClickBank and makes life a lot easier.
Have a look at
1st Promotion and see if you think it could make it easier
for you and your customers.
Note:
When you’re up and running, that’s not the end of it.
Google has a bad habit of ‘slowing the delivery of your ads’ for reasons
best known to themselves. So it’s best not to get paranoid about it – just
make sure you monitor your ads, at least every day, and edit any keywords as
necessary.
But how do you get Adwords at 5c a click ??
And on the first page ??
N.B. It is important to get on Page 1 if you can because many searchers,
your potential customers, don’t move on to page2, 3 etc.
OK, this is what I do, it’s tedious but it works.
(But I also do all the other stuff in Chris's and Wade's
eBooks)
Remember,
-
5c is the minimum CPC Google will allow you to
select
-
there are 8 Google Adword ads on a full page
Prepare your list of keywords
Open Google (the search engine that
is)
Then, just as a trial
1. Type in any search term or word
2, The Google Adword ads are down the right side of the
page.
3. On a full page you’ll see 8 ads.
Now we do it for real:
1. Enter your first keyword from your list, and ‘search’.
2. If there are 8 ads showing (on page 1) try your next
keyword.
Note; Don’t discard your keywords, they may be good even
if you can’t get on page 1 for 5c.
3. If your search shows less than 8 ads on page 1, for
example 5, then you know you can get your ad into 6th spot (on
page 1) for only 5c.
4. Add this to a “5c List”
5. Continue to the end of your keyword list.
Then, when you
-
“Create a New Ad” on Google,
-
you’ll get to the section, (after you’ve listed your 5c
keywords), which nominates the CPC.
-
Usually this will be a high figure.
-
Just change this to 5c and “save the changes”.
Then when you move to the next section the Daily Budget will
be (usually) low.
I always set this to $10:00.
No, I don’t intent to pay $10.00 a day – but at 5c a click
that’s 200 clicks which would produce at least 6 to 8 sales.
So I probably wouldn’t mind paying $10 a day !!
And that’s it.
Don’t forget to monitor your ads performance so you don’t get
slowed !!
One last thing - if you can get clicks at 10c,
15c or 20c you'll still do very well IF you've selected your keywords with
care and your visitors find what they were after.
