Goal
Setting Does Work - -
but only if you do it properly.
I’m a great admirer of Jack Zufelt and the
success he has made of his life. He continues to be a great inspiration to
many people all over the world.
But when he makes a statement, on any topic,
maybe we shouldn’t assume it’s right
“just because Jack says so”.
As he often says, It’s
HIS truth, not
necessarily THE truth.
He states “Goal setting does not work”,
but from everything I’ve ever learnt,
I know that he’s
wrong.
In a lot of his current training he refers to CD100, when he’s really
referring to Real Goals.
Let me explain.
Look at Core Desire 100 first.
According to Jack, when your Core Desire is
at 100 (CD100) you will do EVERYTHING necessary to
get your Core Desire.
But if you don’t attain what you believed to
be your CD100 then “it wasn’t really your CD100 - - or you’d have found a way”.
So you need to ‘drill-down’ until you find
your real Core Desire 100, and work at it again.
Eventually you may get where you think you
want to be.
It’s all a bit ‘hit and miss’, and how do
you know if it really is your CD100 ??
Now look at Goal Setting.
To achieve ANY goal you want, you just
follow these rules.
- Decide on your Goal.
- Calculate the PRICE you must pay to
achieve your goal.
N.B. This is not usually a money price.
- Then simply pay the price.
N.B. Remember -
this is
non-negotiable.
Then if you’ve correctly calculated the
price, when you pay the price, it is impossible to fail !
I know what you’re
saying –
if it’s that simple how
come most people never achieve their goals ?
Well, usually it’s one of two things, or a
combination :
- The Price was
incorrectly calculated
For example,
you may have calculated that to achieve
your Goal level in an MLM business you have to sponsor X new people every month.
Well, you have no control over how many people decide to get in, so you’ve
incorrectly calculated the price.
- They wouldn’t
pay, or tried to re-negotiate, the price.
Example,
maybe one of the prices they have to pay is to make at least 20 new calls every day.
But
life gets a bit busy, they can't can’t fit it in today, they’ll do it tomorrow.
That’s re-negotiation.
So,
the bottom line is,
Goal Setting does work -
BUT ONLY IF YOU DO IT PROPERLY !!!!
